Trans question
This is for a 1993 with the 4l60, not the 4l60e. I threw a DTC 72 (which is a bad shift solenoid). Will the shift solenoids, 1-2,3-4, for a 4l60e fit my transmission? I am having one hell of a time trying to find them for my 4l60. Thanks.

DTC 72 'driveability' is a switch fault NOT solenoid. You apparently don't have a FSM - Factory Service Manual. I don't believe it's likely to be diagnosed without a scanner. Do you have a fully functional quality scanner?
There's also DTC 72 for an ABS fault and a DTC 72 for a CCM faulty. How you arrived at the DTC 72 I'd say important.

..... The 4L60 does not have any shift solenoids ... recheck the fault code .....

I pulled the code using the paper clip method. My trans has been shifting erratically. It starts in second sometimes and also third. When this starting happening, it threw the check engine light (DTC 72). If my trans doesn't have solenoids, what could i replace to fix the problem?

First place to start is do an adjustment of the TV cable to specs. If that doesn't fix your problem, the next move is to check the governor assembly.
