'Mini-starter' retrofit into 85
I'm replacing my old style heavy starter and would like to install one of the lightweight mini starters that were stock on later C4s. Anybody know which one would fit my 85? ...or am I stuck going the aftermarket route? TIA

Should fit. My 88 mounts up the same as my old 85, and the flexplate teeth and diameter are the same.
The newer one weighs practically nothing. Go for it.

I used a starter from a 90 (new GM) when I installed my Hookers. Only thing is the electrical connections are in a different position requiring me to pull on the harness a bit to hook everything up. But it works. Can't imagine trying to change a big older style starter with headers...
