96 c4 wipers only work sometimes. more often they stop working on wet days. Irony.
Bad Switch? Bad turn signal arm? When they DO work, they work fine.
Intermittent would 'hint' bad switch which isn't part of the turn lever. Needs some diagnostics first. Replacement isn't inexpensive or a simple install. I believe there's a reproduction now but unsure of the quality.
You need to go inside of the steering column for replacement.
An under-hood connection to the motor is unlikely but it's an easy clean and secure.
Can you force them by wobbling/twisting the turn lever? Does the dimmer function act like it should always?
This eBay link is a '94+ switch and also has an image showing 'location'. I'm NOT promoting them and the reproductions seem much less. Likely they're just reselling someone else's product. An eBay or GOOGLE search 26036071 should work.
Thanks. Wiggling the turn lever does nothing. If I understand this, there is a wiper motor switch somewhere near the wiper arms, in the cowl? Could that possibly be the culprit?
Everything on the turn lever works correctly.

I doubt but there are 3 connections @ the wiper motor. You could clean all but if there's an issue with park switch, delay etc if it's in the wiper motor cover i's seldom intermittent.
