Okay, this is in regard to a '96 CE with LT4. Replacing the alternator. Seems the last time it was done, someone didn't completely install one of the brackets. It's a black piece of iron, with angled ends. Looks like it bolts the the exhaust manifold . Anyone have a pic of theirs, so I can be sure of placement? Also, any tools tips for bolting it to the exhaust manifold? Might save me some time tonight...thanks!
This might do for mounting. Do you have the missing brace? The 3d brace you see is from the compressor/alternator mounting support. Is that maybe the one you're questioning?
I attempted to get some pictures, kind of hard to do with the ASR module mounted right over the top of them. My LT4 actually has three of those tubular braces. One mounts pretty much vertically from the alternator bracket down to the second manifold stud. The other two angle back and mount one over the other on the third manifold stud. I drew some red lines on these pics along the edges of the braces. The shortest line on the first photo is the manifold end of the brace that's marked in the second photo.

I'm missing the #7 in the image above on my 95 coupe 6spd.
I was going to make a new one when I have time. Would love to find one on line if I could find the OEM part number.
10128423 for #7 - you should be able to verify from this link except in this image it will be #6 NLA OE/GM new but from time to time inexpensive I'd think on eBay or maybe a call to the Corvette salvage guys.
Often when the exhaust manifold is replaced, the braces are left off because either the manifold does not have the correct mounting studs, or the installer just decided that they were not necessary. I'm not sure about the LT4, but if you leave the braces off of the LT1, you may notice a vibration every time the air compressor cycles.
Here is a pic of the 2 brackets on my LT1. I didn't have the correct mounting studded bolt (not sure of the correct name for the bolt) so I had to improvise with a stud and 3 bolts.

Awesome! Thank you...Turns out I have them all. One just wasn't bolted down...

Yea, I think one of mine just wasn't bolted down after a previous alternator replacement...probably 'cause it's a bit hard to get to, but it's back on now...thanks!
