Default Banski Camber Rods Question

I am finally installing these

I have the boots to cover the Heim Joints. I have those installed, but what is the best way to install the camber rod, with the spacers on the outer side?

The inner is easy as the spacers are sleeved.. how do you get everything to work on the outer end? do I put the spacer sin the boot on the outer side?

I'm not 100% sure of your question, so I can explain how I did mine. I did mine a year ago, so this is off memory.
First off measure the lower opening on the knuckle it fits into, not every car has the same opening. IIRC the assembly measured 1.7" while my knuckles measured 1.64" so I had to reduce the cones thickness to adjust for that.
I got a proper sized bolt and cut it to length so it would slide into the opening from the bottom and beveled the one edge.
With the car and the knuckle supported in rough position, I visually aligned the camber rod, the 2 cones IIRC are different thicknesses so I aligned them so the rod was as straight as I could get.
Assemble the bottom end with the heim cover, use some dishwashing soap for lubricant, slide the cut bolt in and slide the cones on. I made a little hook so I could lift the ends of the cover onto the cones and pressed everything tight.
Next slipped the assembly into the knuckle and with the bolt lubed slide it through the knuckle hole, pushing out the cut bolt out the other side. IIRC I turned the bolt by hand so the threads didn't hang up on anything.
Once the bolt was all the way through, a little locktite then the washer and nut and after everything was assembled torque it to spec.
I also did one more thing to mine. Prior to assembly I drilled the bolt for a cotter key so no matter what happened it couldn't disassemble if the nut ever worked loose.

One more thing I did with the parts prior to assembly. I slipped a couple of bolts through the old part through the new ones and got the length set as close as I could so minimize alignment issues. Once the whole kit was assembled then the car was taken out for a 4 wheel alignment. The photo was of the trailing arm, but I did the same thing with the camber rods also.

Is that what you're looking for?

Yes the first part will be helpful. I was having trouble with the camber rod at the lower knuckle, the Center end was easy to stack everything together since that side was sleeved.

Jeff

If you're having problems, consider doing the bottom ones first. It's far easier to work the top end into place than the bottom ones.
If you're still having problems, get some pictures and what the issues are, and will see if can offer any ideas. If nothing else, send me a PM.

One more thing. I made a new center plate for the toe rods, the ones I got didn't work out with the bolt sizes I have on my car. These worked better IMO.

got it done. had to file down the bigger cones to get it to fit.. being back at it after a night of rest was good. I wish I had bought the toe kit.. I just did the camber rods to replace a VB&P camber rod kit. I got mine custom and shorter to fit my car and they seem to be just about right
