Car is 95 6 speed. While keeping an eye on a oil leak at the rear, left side of the engine I noticed a little coolant yesterday. I believe I know where the oil leak is. My concern is the little bit of what looked like coolant sitting on the rear of the block where the bell housing mounts, below the cylinder head. The coolant crossover pipe is dry. I cleaned the area off and drove it 50 miles and its clean, so far. I haven't had a chance to do a pressure test yet. Are these head gaskets known at all for leaking externally in that area??
Could this be caused by one of the freeze plugs leaking by chance. I am not sure exactly where you are talking about, but it might be something to check into.
The oil leak looks like the corner of the intake where the head, block and intake meet. The oil is following the head down to the block. It's minor at this point, but it looked like a little green mixed in there. I used a mirror to look at the head/block/intake in that area.

It was sitting on top of the block, below the cylinder head. I have no leaks reaching the ground.
