Default maff error code 34 and 36

1986 c4 my engine light is staying on rough idle etc!
maf air problem,im having problems finding the (maf power relay) my book says maf power relay and maff sensor burn off relay are next to each other behind the battery.
i only have located the burn off sensor behind the battery.
the crazy part is i have a 1986 c4 parts car build date 12-85 and it has both sensors behind the battery.
my other has a build date 04-85 lots of wiring differences.
my quess is i have a bad maf sensor located behind the air cleaner
i don t like parts changing when your not sure where the problem is
pricey part.
any help appreciated
thanks steve

Sorry, but the car with the 04-85 build date is actually an ’85, not an ’86. The one with the 12-85 build date is an ’86. Check the 10th digit of each car’s VIN. The 04-85 car is most likely an “F”, while the 12-85 will be a “G”. This is why you have a difference, the ’85 has a burn-off module in the cockpit not a relay behind the battery like the ’86 has.

Default

I have been losing hair over intermittent codes 34 & 36 in my 1989. Runs good, then runs like crap.
I think I finally have it, although I replaced the MAF, the real culprit was the MAF relay.

Must of been getting weak internally.
