Default Entry level mods for 84 Crossfire

Ive frequented the forum now for about 4 years. I just recently bought an 84 vette (first one) because I believe that a high horsepower crossfire vette would be a really interesting showpiece at my local car meets
For you TBI enthusiasts I am wondering what you did early on to boost those horsepower numbers and what you recommend to do first. I appreciate any advice you can give me!

Tried and true: Port intake (or the more expensive slap on a renegade) bump up base timing and set the fuel pressure. You'll feel the difference. After that it's just how much do you want to spend.

The above link is a good read.

If you do mods you may need a new ecm. If your looking for one that fits in stock ecm location that is easier than original to tune, check out DynamicEFI!

The fuel pressure is a big deal, the L83 likes 13 psi and the stock '84 pump is maxed out at that point so an upgrade to a later '85 on pump may be required to get that pressure. Check it while driving, not just at idle.

Jump right to this, they have a polished version too. For th emoney hard to beat will still flow better than a ported stocker. There isnt a lot of meat to work with on the GM piece.
Long tube headers, an upgraded head (afr 180) or tfs 175?? head, go conservative on the cam it will haul butt.

Look up Buccaneer he designed it and knows how to the most out of it without wasting money.
