I have an 86 corvette, and it has a problem where if you arent paying attention and you wind the window down too far, it wont stop at the top of the door and it will fall slightly inside the door and you have to pull it up by hand. Anyway, I did this the other day when I wasnt paying attention, and after I pulled the window up, I couldnt unlock/open my door anymore and now I have to climb out through the passenger door. Ive looked down inside the door and can't see any rods that have popped off, everything seems normal. I tried unlocking it with the key but no luck. Here' my best at describing what happens with the key.... The key goes in at 12 oclock, and instead of turning to 3 oclock as it usually does to unlock it, the key will only turn to 1 oclock. I cant take the door panel off either as I cant open the door at all. Does anyone know a fix, or even a way I can pop the lock with a screwdriver or something just so i can get the door open to fix it?
Thank you

Hmm, this is an interesting problem. I think that the window regulator needs adjusted to keep the window from going too far down in the future. As for the stuck door, you should be able to put the window all the way down, and jimmy a wire loop down into the window crack. I'd have to check on my car, but I believe that if you get the loop around the arm on the door lock solenoid (located close to the rear end of the door) and lift up, you should be able to unlock the door. I would think that if you can't get it, an automotive locksmith should be able to jimmy it open.
Unless your window regulator hit the rod and bent it, there should not be a reason the lock is messed up. Spray wd40 into the lock and work it 9 to 3 this is strange to say the least.
Good Luck
