..... How much would you expect to pay or be willing to pay for a billet batwing for a D44 diff ? .....

I imagine if I needed a stronger batwing I migjt be willing to pay a fair bit. However my current setup seems to do fine with the stock one...

Block of aluminum would be around $400. About 18-20 hrs of run time on a cnc with 2 sides being done. 50-60 bucks for bushings. Probably 12-1400 to make a little profit
