tried this in google and "out if stock " everywhere or 2 places insane price
1989 Convertible 6 speed front steering rack
I'd prefer new and not re built
Rock Auto says return and rebuild

We can rebuild your unit and return it to like new condition. The rebuild cost starts at $250 and the turn around time is about 2 weeks. We can also attempt to source a core and rebuild it for you. It is best to rebuild the unit you have to make sure that it stays correct for the vehicle.

If any hard parts need to be repaired or replaced then the cost would go up accordingly. Without disassembling your rack and inspecting it, it is impossible for us to tell you exactly how much it would cost, which is why we say "starting at".

I found one local in Tampa all re built for $350.
so no shipping. They are 1/2 hour from me
core charge $350 which I get back
local garage will install for $450

It is not all that hard to install a replacement rack. Before you pay $450.00 for that work, check out the procedure in the FSM. It can be done on jack stands and about the only "special tools" needed are tubing wrenches. You WILL need alignment after doing the work.
