What does EGR Switch Do ?
I've been having a rough idle problem and have replaced a long list of items including the EGR valve, all with no luck. Now I'm looking at the EGR Switch which is attached to the EGR pipe. What does it do? Can it be related to the rough idle? I'm also looking at the Oxygen sensor.

The EGR Temp sw shouldn't efffect idle but should throw a code if stuck On; explanation on my site.
If you have a miss at idle, put a timing light in turn onto each poug wire and see if the miss coincides with missed flashes. This would isolate a bad wire, plug or dist cap terminal.
