Default Can you load a tune in a early c4

ive been researching for a bit today and I’m stuck can you or can you not hook up a programmer to an 84 corvette and raise your rpm and hp and load a tune??

No you can not. You have to burn a new chip.

No, it requires a chip, and no you don't make HP from nothing. You must get more air into the engine.

84's have thier own issues mostly around intake manifold be restrictive.

i have a hypertech performance chip in already and looking to do renegade soon

Renegede is a good solution. Also, if you have not allready consider putting in a higher flow fuel pump. Use a 85-89 and it will bolt right in.

After you have installed the Renegede and the Fuel pump, try bumping your timing up as far as your car can stand it. Most like about 8 degrees BTC but mine loved 12.

If you need more ideas, hit up "Buccaneer" in the C3 forum. He basically invented the Renegede and knows how to build up the XFire.

If you have a renegade you can pick up a few numbers from a proper tune... the factory timing curves and fuel maps leave a lot to be desired and and even more so with more airflow. That being said with just the intake it wouldn't be worth it. Keep power curves similar and you're not leaving much. Start getting into heads and cams then maybe. I wouldn't worry about it for now.

That being said, getting an ebl flash would allow you to do whatever. But you definitely don't need that.
