Canadian vs US emission systems
I have a 96 LT1 Collector Edition vert. The car was originally sold in Vancouver BC. As I have recently moved to an urban home (Ptld, OR), clearance from the OR Dept of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is needed to get new license tags. My car will not pass as the Canadian configuration is apparently not the same as US; the DEQ computer will not read all of the required fields. The dealership I have taken it to was stumped, consulted with GM mothership, etc etc. Nearly $600 later, new software was supposedly written and installed. After a few miles, it went from running great to total shut down. Towed back to the dealer yesterday. Any ideas or experiences that might help me? Maybe they will figure this out before I have to file for bankruptcy, but so far, not good.
