Default I know, I know the dash lights

Hey Everyone, I am a newbee here. I have been reading for 48 hours on this forum which I love. So this is what is happening:

I ordered the xenon bulb kit for my instrument panel display because one light was out.. I installed it and everything seemed to be great. Dash lit up and all was good. About 2 hours later, there are no instrument panel lights at all.
I checked the fuses.

Radio and AC/Heater lights up and dims with dimmer.

I put flashlight in actuator to see if it would light it up.

The only thing I did was remove the front right headlight to replace the motor that flips headlight up, it doesn’t register in my brain that, that could have anything to do with it.

I realize that it is probably a coincidence but just wanted to see if any members had any ideas what so ever or if something common happens for me to start looking at

Welcome to the forum

You didn't mention the year, but from your description I suspect you have an early C4 with the Atari dash. Did you shine your light into the areas like the tach and see if it's actually working, just not showing the lights? If that's the case I'd suspect you lost the ground between the 2 boards in the instrument cluster.
Check out Batee.com. Bryan has a lot of good info there, sells parts and does repairs. I had the ground go bad in mine, did not feel comfortable trying to fix it myself so sent it to Bryan. He did a great job, fixed it up and for what I thought was a fair price.

Check it out, if nothing else look at some of the diagnostics on the site, I'm sure you'll find your problem there.

It is an 85, but after spending days reading the forum, I am not alone.

It happens, after all your car is 33 years old. Like I said, check Batee.com for parts if you feel comfortable fixing it yourself or he can fix it for you if you don't.
Bryan can convert it to xenon or led light IIRC, which eliminates the initial likely cause of your problem: heat.
