I'm getting no spark. I've had my Opti rebuilt, replaced the coil because I thought it was bad, but still nothing. I've taken the coil wire and held close to a ground and turned the Opti. I can hear the injectors clicking, but no spark. I've got power to my coil and I've checked every fuse I can find. Is there something I should look at or is it certainly the ICM?
Here is a good diagnostic procedure to follow: http://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm/4....test-the-icm-1. Given you're getting signal to the injectors, it probably isn't your optispark at this point. Don't assume that because the coil is new it can't possibly be bad - run the full diagnostic procedure. Another thing you can do is take off the ICM (it's easy) and find a parts store that will test it. They all used to offer that service, but many don't nowadays. You'll have to call around.
I took the ICM and coil to AutoZone for testing. It failed horribly. Slapped a new one in and nothing.
So I put everything down and my wife and I went for a motorcycle ride. While we were out I realized that I may not have put the coil wire back on the Opti, which turned out to be the case. Now it starts, but runs bad, which is either crossed plug wires or flooded cylinders. Easy.
