I say replace them with reconditioned ones from FIC ( fuelinjectorconnection.com )
- get a set of bosch3's from FIC. cleaning at home is IMO, hit or miss, and sending them out for cleaning costs just as much as getting a rebuilt or reconditioned set. if you're dealing with original multech's, most everyone will tell you to replace them. Jon is a stand-up guy, and FIC a first class operation. bosch3's are the only way to fly for the L98 or LT's. multi-X repeat customer with FIC - 85, 2-90's, 96 -
Having done both, cleaning at home and new from fic, new from fic is the best option.
that said, ive been there, and this is the method i used and it did actually work, but it was on an 85, with bosch oem. multecs, dont bother just toss and get new.
. i used jb weld instead of plastic melting the spray tube to the schrader cap. it did work. i even witnessed spray pattern by spraying onto paper.
All you really need to do is run some GM top engine cleaner mixed with gas through the injector rails. Disconnect the fuel pump and run the car on the cleaneing solution for say 15 minutes.

More of an unknown. You don't know how much the snake oils you put in does or doesn't do. Also with the Multecs, they don't get along with ethanol so you would have to go to a "gas only" pump which is few and far between in some places or at best, out of the way in other places unless you are really lucky. With the later models, you can go to any pump and not have to go to a certain few. Much easier to send it out, have them remove the filter basket, clean it, make sure it flows like it should and send it back with a new basket filter that is new and you get to see if it is really done or not.
