Default 1993 lt1 code 41

Engine will start but no more than 3000 rpm before it starts to cut out/flutters. Only code is a C41. Have about 7000 miles on my Dynaspark opti. Installed about 5 years ago. Have not checked coil, ICM and connectors. Have no speedometer, odometer locks up. For a while I could turn off ignition perhaps several times and it would reset. I have not removed the ICM and thought maybe the heat grease may have dried out causing intermittent problem. Just find it hard to believe it is the opti. I am not good at diagnosing electrical issues and the test procedures in the fsm. Will a tech 1 give me more info on the problem?

That code is "Loss of ECM serial data communications". https://tech.corvettecentral.com/201...trouble-codes/

Could be a bad connection or bad ECM. The 1992-93 ECMs can have troubles and are a little hard to find. There are places that will repair them and I had mine repaired at SIA Electronics.

Where is SIA located? I do have an extra ecm but didn't seem to work when I tried it several years ago, but I think the wrong eprom was in it. and the original started the engine ok.

They are in southern Illinois and turn the ECM around in about a week. If you have another ECM put your current MEMCAL (EEPROM) in the other ECM and try it.

Well I found it! Pulled the prom out and installed my original. Started up and after starting in numerous times asr light went away. Engine revved right up. Will check I out tomorrow. May still have a ERR in module 4, but light went out so it maybe reading new info from ecm yo the asr computer. Something fell when I was sliding unit out. I think it was the rubber bushing so may need to take the vented side cover off to get to the battery area.
Next problem is to put cable back on parking brake hand lever. will have to take seat out to disassemble it.
