I would like to know how to figure out which engine I have bought please?
It was already in the1987 Corvette that I recently purchased. Any suggestions?
Is this a different engine that what came with the car? Find a casting number on the block and/or take some pictures and post them on this forum as a start.
Why do you think it's a "track racing engine"?? As mentioned, look for a casting number. There should be a flat tab on the passenger side of the block just in front of the cylinder head. If the A/C compressor is not on the engine, it should be easy to read. Also look for casting numbers on the cylinder heads. That will help too. And as mentioned, post some pics of the engine.
Does the car have any mods that make you think it may have been set up for competition use? Headers? Dual exhaust? Roll bar? Harness bar?

Bill , I found out yesterday that this engine has been installed as an aftermarket. It was built by Traco engineering. I’m trying to find out what the details are on it. I will post what I found.
Thanks for replying.
