I know this isn't correct. Looked like this when I bought the car a few months ago. Not touching the rode yet. Getting a rip started on the drivers side. Have a pic of how it is suppose to look? Any advice on correcting it? TIA.

at a minimum, i'd get a new air dam and hardware kit. I wouldn't try to salvage anything. you really need to rip out all the old parts, and start from scratch.

you are also missing the upper-center brace (part 4 in the diagram). here's a link to a TSB - http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...mage-1217.html

pretty sure GM/OEM air dams are discontinued, but I've had really good luck with the reproductions. I wasn't fussy about the hardware, and went to ACE hardware for stainless. the upper brace is going to be the problem - try here in the "WTB" parts section or fleabay. if your handy, fairly easy to fab out of 1/2" tubing.

here's a pic of a factory installation ---

if you procure a repro air dam set, opt for the Z51 configuration. it's extends about 1" lower than the non-Z51 version. it should aid somewhat in cooling. here's a fleabay link for a repro set $55 shipped from Mid-America Motorworks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Z-51-Heavy-...sid=m570.l1313

good luck and

Default What a difference

About $50 and less than an hours worth of labor.
Here are the parts I used, plus a 1/4-20 nut. Be aware there may be a wiring harness or something where you need to drill the hole. I couldn't move it so I used a paint paddle to keep the drill from hitting it.

What I replaced was very bent.

And finally the results.

Close up.

I highly recommend this up grade. Rock solid now.

I want to thank Joe C for the help. All my Google-fu could not come up with anything.

JoeK - lookin good!!!

one thing I might add -- somewhat a minor mod to the air dam. where the two end sections over lap with the center, drill and install a couple push-in fasteners. helps secure the three sections together. you can pick up the fasteners at just about any auto parts store.

Did all the C4s have that body colored spoiler in there? I don't think my 85 has that anymore. My lower air deflector is pretty beat up and bent back as well.

as far as I know, all 1984 thru 1990 c4's have the body colored spoiler, air foil, or as they (the factory) call it, "radiator grill panel". it appears that was eliminated with the restyled front ends in 1991. a little FYI - p/n 14058670, 84-89, and 14104982 for 1990 -

Running cooler on the highway and the a/c was good now it's great. Guess about 10 degrees cooler or better, under 210 now.
