Yeah I definetily want it to be nice and noticeable but not super loud. Sounds like Borla might be too much for me

I had to put a high flow cat to get it down some. If I had to do it, I'd go with whatever was quietest with the least flow restriction.

Headers completely change the tone of any catback system. Including Corsa. The Corsa will still be manageable from the inside, but it definitely doesn't have the same characteristics with factory manifolds and cats.

Definitely but from what I am reading, Corsa seems to be able to flow as much WITHOUT as much noise which is what I would want. Unfortunately, I have too much invested in the Borla and don't really want to spend more money unless some killer deal comes along where someone has a used set and I can sell my Borla.

I wonder if they have done any tests with a sound meter INSIDE the car and see how much the sound level is with each different system. Obviously a Mustang will be different from a Camaro or a Charger or vette but that is a guide to the engineering.

It may be a resonator I’m not sure.

OP.

If it's '84-'91, it's a catalytic converter.

If it's '92-'96, it's a "resonator"....i.e. another muffler.

Why does it have 3 cats for early and late 2? Did something change with the LT1 emissions wise?

Just like everything else, technology gets better. Didn’t need three cats in the LT1.

I did not think that the LT1 was that much improved over the L98. You may have a point

Catalytic converters technology may have improved. Emissions production and types of emissions may have gone down with the LT1. Or the design of two large size cats instead of two small size and one medium sized cat won over.

All possible. I bought the 91 to transplant my newly built and tuned L98 from the F-body that got wrecked so I didn't really drive it much or bother to look under the hood too thoroughly to notice anything other than where the plug for this, that or the other went to and from.

Sounds great! Do you have any drone with that setup? It's time for me to dump my MF system and i'm debating between stock mufflers or Corsa. The problem I have is paying 1k for a Corsa system and only using from the diff back. Used ones seem non-existent....

For what you are wanting go with Corsa. Buy once/Cry once.

I've done them all on my 94' and finally ended up with Corsa. Sounds great. The only other combo I would consider on a stock L98/LT1 would be long tubes into stock LT1 mufflers (also sounds awesome with a small performance boost).

I want it to sound good but not be overly loud. Good for the street, not for the track if you know what i mean. Thanks in advance for any advice!
go with the borla. I had one. Much better than corsa
