Harness
New to Corvette. Bought this 89 from my friend that he bought in 1990.

New ‘Vette

He’s paid people to do “stuff” most of which I’m trying to undo . Anyway, while tracking down the vacuum leak for the HVAC I came across this odd switch that is plugged in line with some factory wiring but doesn’t seem to do anything. Anyone here recognize this part of the harness under the steering column? My friend has no clue about it.

Brown & yellow on the right is the VATS - it appears he's attached a 'toggle' to activate/by-pass the feature to suit himself. Without the wire colors of the additional connector etc it's difficult to comment. A 'test' might be - will the car 'crank/run' with toggle in both positions?

other side has yellow and yellow wires. Connected them together and still starts... switch had no effect for starting in either position.
