Default GMPP Hotcam shift points

Heading to the track next week for this first time since installing a hotcam kit. Tune has been sorted out, so no concerns from that standpoint.

Looking for some folks who have experience with this setup to chime in on shift points. It's never been on the dyno but a quick google search shows peak power in the 5500-6500rpm range.

Any input?

did you install the cam with new valve springs, if so 6,to 63 rpms would be safe, i have the same but just remember things break if you get greedy.

Correct, LT4 springs that came with the kit. There has been lots of discussion over the years if those springs are a good fit with stock LT1 valves, so lets just assume they are. I'm not spinning up there very often so i'll make the assumption i'll be safe.

Thanks for the feedback.

I've had the hot cam kit in my 95 for 70K. When the tune was done the shift points were increased to approx 6200 RPM. I don't race the car but I red line it all the time. No issues.
