I have a 95 Z07 - your deal looks like a good one. Try The Last Detail (I think) for the best price on the actuator. If it's just the actuator, that's a very easy driveway fix. You raise the car, remove the top bolts for the shock, and replace the actuator. Try to support the suspension while removing/replacing the shock bolts to relieve the stress on the threads and to make replacement easier. Good luck with the job.
Thanks for the info !!

P.S Salute to all them great people on this Forum - it is priceless !!
( with-out it i wouldn't even dare to purchase a Vette  )
Replacing the actuator is not too big of a job. But you should have the ECM cheked for codes relating to the problem.
When the "Service Ride Control" light comes on, a code will be set and it will stored as a history code, too. You should have the ECM checked for code 13 (Left Rear time out). This means the actuator is either moving too slowly or not receiving a correct feedback signal. If it is the shock, there will be a code 33 (Left Rear out of position).
The actuator code is usually the result of the gear being broken or the shock code is the shaft not being able to turn properly.
You might find a good price from Jeff Kopp here on the fourm, or try contacting Bilstein.
Because the Selective Ride Control system does a check at start-up, you should be seeing the light every time you turn the ignition to "On".
I would follow the advice to check the shock the actuator is on. The mileage of 52K is a bit low for this problem to be showing up. It usually, shows up around 70K or a bit higher.
Go to Bilsteins website and check the links for shock retailers. You can get actuators for 139 and new shocks for 169. The shocks can be rebuilt by Bilstein here in the US for 50 per shock with a 2 week turn around. If the shaft or gear is broken in the shock, the rebuild is 125 for that shock.
I looked into getting new actuators in February and they were on back order at that time. I hope the current backorder did not start in Feb or we all maybe having a tough time fixing our adj suspension systems.
Actually it is an easy fix if he is sure it's just the actuator. The hardest part is going to be finding one for the right price. How about agreeing on a price and let the seller locate and buy the part? Just a thought. :flag
