Default Driveing time to reset ECM

I had to replace the EVEP system on my 93 ,hoses .canister the works . What in need is to get the $%^&* ( CHECK ENG ) light to go off . I have reset it and it pops back on .. Anybody know the driving miles to reset the ECM .. I discounted the NEG. side of the Batt. it works for awhile few miles pops back on .. I talked to some shops here ( Houston ) said it my never go off. Said the EVAP is hard to get right ... Thanks..

First pull the codes to see why. If everything is right the light should not come back on. Once reset after you drive 35mph the relearn process starts. Not sure how long it takes for the fuel mapping to relearn but its not like an OBDII does not have readiness states that have to reset.

If you can't blow air through the line then it is plugged.

it never hurt anyone to have a bit of knowledge.

replace the line or figure out how to clean it out and if that doesn't fix the issue, then you have knowledge of where to go from there

93 LT1 ECM really doesn't have a reset procedure. A code 26 relates to a Quad Driver Module Fault. A QDM is similar to a circuit breaker. Shorted Evap , EGR, AIR bypass solenoids or AIR pump relay or related wiring can set code. I would get a FSM You could try unplugging electrical connector from each one, one at a time. see if 26 goes away.

Update : I know a little late been busy working on these old C-4s for other people .. After everything being replaced, needed it anyway , DA DA the plug in the EVAP bypass valve witch comes in for the bottom and very hard to see was not fully lucked in ,can't see it from the top looking down .The manual keep saying there is a plug there I didn't see it finely reached under the valve and felt it and gave it a push and yes I heard in snap in .O- well. Light off Thanks for all your help ..
