Default ZZ4 & SuperRam?????

How much HP & TQ does the SuperRam with 58mm TB add to a ZZ4 crate motor.

I have visited many sites to get the answer to this question and have come up blank. I know that several here are running similar setups so I hope that you will share your experiance.

Thanks,

It might change the torque curve, but I doubt it would add any horsepower. Horsepower on a ZZ4 is pretty much limited by the flow of the D-port heads. If anything, I'd say the SR might limit hp a bit, vs. a 750 Holley. That's just my guess though. I don't have anything to back that up.

That is a very interesting question since the ZZ4 uses an updated aluiminum L98 head. (Updated in the since of seats/springs? but a bolt on replacement). This head as you well know flows 198 CFM at peak lift, but can be improved to 230/240 with a lot of effort/$$$ and the right know how (read lingenfelter $$). To that end any intake that bolt on will not improve the airflow...only take less away. I stole the following on intake flow, but keep in mind that the intake system is limited by the weakest link.

TPI = 198 CFM (go figure it matches the heads)
Accel TPI system = 232 CFM (probably good for TFS or edelbrock heads)
Accel SR = 240 CFM (Better CNC heads possibly AFR low buck heads)
MiniRam = I wish I knew...Possibly close to a single plane (Performer RPM 286/victo racer 275)

From the above you can see that the numbers are less than that of carb intakes, but would probably come close to the ZZ4's dual plane manifold - 350 depending on cam.

DOES any one know what the Miniram will flow?

The ZZ4 is rated at 355 HP and 405 TQ. It uses Aluminum heads with 58cc chambers, and 1.94 / 1.5 valves.
Cam specs are....Intake .474 lift, Exhaust .510
Duration @ .050 is Intake .208 degrees and Exhaust 221 degrees .

It would add about 30hp with the accel 219 cam, but with a small intake duration like that, i dont know exactly what it would give, maybe not much.

the 219 isn't really that much bigger than the zz4 cam, on the stock unported heads 30hp might be a bit of a stretch. the 219 has more intake duration but slightly less exhaust duration. i think the zz4 is a 208/22? lift is .488/.510.

560inch with 1.6 rockers 0.525inch with 1.5's

I would say the 219 is BIGGER than a zz4 cam,

Its about the same as the hotcam which could be 20 or more horses
