air pump elim. ?s
Can anyone tell me what happens to the rest of the system once the air pump is removed? Are they capped? Will I get a a permanent code? Any info would be useful. TIA :seeya

The AIR system only heats up the catalytic converters by forcing more air into them on startup. The only code i think you would get is the EGR code 32, but i dont remember anybody ever getting any codes at all with it. Well i have seen where you get a Code 26, moreso on LT1's.

I gutted mine and removed all the extra plumbing except for the hard lines ging to both sets of AIR tubes on the manifolds. You could cap it to keep crud from getting in there, but there's a check valve on each one to keep your exhaust from blowing out if you didn't cap it.
