I have started my fx3 installation on my 93 ruby. I have everything down to a T except in the back of the car by the asr/abs module. When all said and done I'm left with two black male connectors one with 7 cavity pins and the other with 8 cavity pins. I can not see anywhere in the 93 service manual where they are described or located. I got the harness from a salvage yard who deals with only vettes.....very good quality stuff....and we are working to correct the issue but does anyone from 90-92 or 94-96 with the fx3 ride control seen these? wondering if he gave me the wrong year harness.......all off the connectors are perfectly lined up EXCEPT those two unknowns that seem to connect to something I can't figure. I've combed both service manuals of the 93 and not an indication of what they are or what they do whatsoever.........please help!! thanks...kitt
According to my manual the FX3 connector in the cargo bin behind the drivers seat is a 32 pin affair. There is a number associated with it. Could be a part no., I don't know.
Number is 12041476 32-WAY F MICRO-PACK (SRC) MODULE
I definetely agree......i have both of those connectors .........but I also have two unknown 7 and 8 cavity EXTRA connectors. I did some pin mapping and found that my harness is wired differently. I think he sent me the wrong interconnect harness but the right body harness. I have the micro fiche cd but that is as useful as **** on a bull. I just know that this harness isn't for my year. If you come up with anything else let me know and thanks
If you can wait until next week I maybe able to help. I'm going to do the same thing on my 92. I have all the parts, connectors etc. I didn't get a harness I'm going to build my own. Everything looks straightforward, the hardest part will be routing my harness and taping into the speed sensor. I'd be curious as to how you did yours. I'm undecided if I'm going to try and wire in the fault code light in the message center. If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer right now. However all my shop manuals and pieces are back at the house. Hope I can help..
Just curious where you got all your parts from new or used???? And what your cost was. The guy sent me the wrong harness for my car and is sending all the rest of the "missing" stuff. So when I gets here it will be plug and pray......lol.....Soldering all the connections...........brave!!!..... :D As you can see from my profile......i'm no stranger to custom electronic work either but man ........all those wires and color codes..........hope you have a plan and 3 months of good work time..........anything you find out would be great and I will use the info......and likewise when I get mine up and running I post some info...........thanks bud........
I too would be very interested in this mod - began collecting the items already (but slowely). Would make great winter project up here in the NE.
A parts list and/or documented tech tip with pics would be a terrific addition!:yesnod:
