I had one of the galley plugs (the three plugs behind the cam sprocket) blow out and oil starve one of my heads. Consequently I had three exhaust valves seize and one spring break.
I have the engine apart and I am going to tap the galley and put screw in plugs. The center galley line seems like it will work with a 1/4"NPT tap, but the two outside ones have larger holes that go ½" to ¾" inside then they are the same size as the center galley. It looks like it can be tapped with the 1/4" NPT but it is close to the lifter bore.
I looked at Jegs and Summit and have not seen a tapped galley plug kit.
On the outer lines can I just tap the holes deep or should I find a tap that fits the outer hole?
Why not use just regular plugs and secure them in place w/ a chisel mark?

The plugs were replaced by the machine shop during my first rebuild. One of the pressed in and chiseled plugs blew out. I run autocross and track events with this car and it sees allot of high RPM. I am running a high-pressure high-volume pump. I just want to make sure the same failure does not happen again
