Default Another day at the track

Well we had a bitter sweet day at the track yesterday, my daughter in the car. 1st 2 passes very good, a personal best for the car. 2nd 2 passes not so good. on the third pass she ended up out of the groove and spun way too much causing car to slide even more out of groove and anyone that has a hard shifting auto and tires are spinning these things like to make a hard left and that is exactly what happened sending her spinning into the LL. luckily the car in the LL got out enough there was no collision and she managed to get it woed down and kept off the wall. a bit shook up but managed to get back in and make another pass. car spun again so that last run was a bust. all and all a good learning day. temps were low and streets tires did not perform the best. I ran it a few weeks ago and it hooked great so this was not expected. attach is a couple pics. later I will upload the video.

UPDATE, ADDED VIDEO
ONE OF HER SUCCESSFUL RUNS AND HER 1ST PRO TREE

She wasn't hurt and she got back in to try again. Sounds like she has talent and a passion for it. Maybe time for a set of Drag Radials.

It's time for a set of drag radials. Do you still have your stock wheels laying around? If so, get a set of DRs and mount them on the old wheels. You could even paint them black don't look too out of place with your thin spokes. I painted a set of my old wheels black, for track use, and you'd hardly even notice they were on there.

Wow! Glad you and the car are ok. Looked to be a really cold day. Not sure, but you may have lined up to the right of the groove which may have caused you to start spinning right after the 60. Good to be able to race again. Be careful.

My most recent set are Mickey Thompson ET Street DRs in 275/40. I've tried a few different DRs over the years, but the MTs have been the most consistent for me. I'm at a similar power level to you and they're a dead hook virtually every time.

BTW, you're going to the right place and at the right time to look for your best ETs.

Dunno the actual conditions there, but that track looks slick as hell.

Thanks. My Camaro was 400whp with 3800 converter dead hooked every time with mt et streets. I did like them. They were 255/60-15 . 1.5 60'.

Glad everyone is good. Your slips are looking good too. Pulling the 400 in the 67 right now for a rebuild. Ate two lobes and then started knocking. Next year it'll actually go down the strip if I get the 12 bolt in it... I will eventually get meet you lol.

That being said it was cold. I don't think even drag radials would have helped. That's why I go out fishing this time of year. Had the car out Saturday afternoon and the tires didn't really want to stick either... was 28 Sunday morning in Tom's river, boat was an ice skating rink until 7 lol. Air quality has been fantastic here though. Vette just felt like it was running better Saturday. I'd imagine it isn't too much different by you. I was going to take it down to work/school tomorrow but they brined 295 for whatever reason... if I can avoid rust I will. Shes probably done for the winter at this point.
