I didn't notice the thermostat housing was machined way off until I tried breaking in the cam and it was pissing coolant all over the place. I didn't notice a blind man machines the runners until the thing broke up at 3k while driving it. I didn't notice all the bolt holes were drilled and tapped too shallow until I couldn't get the distributor to hold timing pr get the throttle bodies to not leak or the top plate to seal... if you check everything over with gaskets you'll catch the flaws.
