I've been looking into getting some reprogramming done on my LT4 to match the mods coming in the near future... I noticed at http://www.pcmforless.com he has a kit that allows you to use an ODB1 PCM in your ODB2 car... this allows you to use LT1-edit, etc... the price is only $275 including the computer. Has anyone done this type of conversion? Thoughts on it?
I have done this conversion a couple of times on Corvette's. You don't have to get a kit to do it. All you need is a '95 Y-body PCM, 2 '95 knock sensors and a wiring change.
In the '96 PCM, both knock sensors terminate into seperate pin-outs. Pins 22 and 23 on the blue connector.
In the '95 PCM, both knock sensors terminate into a single pin-out. Pin 22 on the blue connector (I think, I'll verify when I get home).
You have to cut one of the knock sensor wires (pin 22 or 23) at the PCM connector and splice into a single input. I don't remember the specifics, but I will verify and post when I get home.
