What could be the problem? The brake booster does look pretty old and rusty...Has brake fluid..It still stops good you just have to really press on the pedal hard....is that usually a brake booster? It ckind of does feel like press a brake pedal with the engine off
That problem could be caused by the Master Cylinder as well. Be sure to check that out before replacing the brake booster.
I had a master cylinder fail where it was harder than normal for a few weeks and then one day while travelling at 70 mph I pushed the pedal and it was like there was a brick holding it up. Fortunately I had an operating Parking brake as well as a four speed so I had options that an automatic transmission might not have had. It was scary going 70 mph and not having a brake pedal in Washington DC beltway traffic. I will never forget that day...
