Default Intake pendulum not lining up

I recently purchased a 87 vette and came to find out it had a blown head gasket and was filled with gasket sealer and ive just about completed but now I cannot get my intake pendulum to like up the runners went on the bottom just fine but I cannot get the top to line up with the holes I don’t want to destroy the brand new gaskets I was wondering if anyone has had past experience with this any help would be appreciated and is there a specific way to put it on I’m not sure I don’t know if I have to put the top and the runners on at the same time

Loosen the lower runner bolts a tad till you get all the runner-plenum bolts installed and snug

Then torque down the base bolts followed by the plenum bolts.

There is a L&R upper plenum gasket if you look closely you Will see that bit of gasket is sticking above center runner, if that shows it is reversed.

Mount the plenum that has the hidden bolt tighten it up. Mount the rest leave loose until all bolts in and tighten

When you have a chance, buy a FSM (service manual). It is filled with information. You can pretty much assemble a whole car with that manual.

Glad to hear you got the assembly ironed out.

I found that local parts houses have both plastic and rubber vacuum hoses.

I just did the job myself, you can reuse the small plastic lines if they break, but put a small tiewrap on the ends of the vacuume hose after you slip it over.
