Default Valve cover question

Hi, I got some proform chrome Chevrolet valve covers to install on my 85 and I had a question about the pcv part. I’m probably going to install them while I put an air pump delete on it and I was wondering if it would be good to replace the pcv lines and plug them and get oil breathing filtered baffles instead. I thought that would look better like that but if it would cause problems I just won’t do it. I’ve heard some people say that’s fine and some say it can put oil on the engine and cause idle problems.

You need to keep the pcv. If not crankcase pressure will build and cause leaks. The oil vapors filling engine compartment can cause other problems.

It could cause idle and running problems if you did one side. So if you remove the PCV, you have to remove other breather that pushes air into the crankcase. So vent both or not at all. I have my PCV on the Powerstroke vented to the ground instead of the intake track which will send it all over the intercooler and pipes.

Ok, well I guess I will just keep the pcv then. I thought it would look neat with a chrome filtered baffle but I’ll just put the hoses on the new covers when I go to install them. Thanks for the answers.
