Default Identify steering column part?

Can anyone identify what this part is? When I disassembled my 1992 steering column, it was just lying in the bottom of the housing, rolling around. I can't see anything resembling it on the exploded diagram in the FSM, and there isn't any part it overtly fell out of.

The smaller end is threaded, like it would be something a screw screwed into.

I'd say you've found what someone 'maybe' foolishly attempted to substitute for the correct pivot. I'd have thought that should've been very 'easy' for you to sort after this comment!

Well I found the missing pivot pin, so that hadn't occurred to me, but it actually makes a lot of sense that maybe a PO hadn't and shoved that in there. I know its not something that I removed or misplaced, was more curious in case something I wasn't planning on disassembling was broken.
