Default Need to Confirm Lifter Part Numbers for 96 LT1

I need to change the lifters on my 96 LT1. From what I've researched, it seems like the stock GM parts would be a good solution. I have a few questions:

1. Is GM Part number 12371042 the correct parts?
2. Can I reuse the existing push rods with these lifters.

Any other tips or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

So that is the entire kit. Really you could get away with 17120735 which is the stock lifter only iirc.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like 12371042 is a kit that contains the 17120735 lifter. Here’s a link to the parts: Part

i didn’t find a cheaper price for just the lifters but I’ll keep looking.

Thanks,

My fiche also lists a different PN for the push rod for 96 than the 87-95 too. So something about the 96 is different from the earlier engines. Having never worked on the valve gear in a 96, I have no idea what it is.
The updated part number is for the lifters also used in the vortec 350 truck engines iirc. (L31) the kit is actually for a retrofit for a non upfitted 350 so it includes the retainer and "dog bones". I'm actually running LS lifters in my L31 383 as they're the next in line part, but the cup depth is slightly shorter.

Is 17120735 a direct replacement for the lifters currently in the car. Do I need to be concerned about a pushrod change or any difference in the adjustment with the 17120735 lifters.

Thanks,

Thanks,
No, that is the correct part number. Upon assembly you can double check the sweep pattern on the valve tip to be sure but that part number is correct.

One last question. I see parts listed with the 17120735 part number that are AC Delco. Is that the same as GM? A few sites seem to have them cheaper than other sites that say GM.

Thanks!
