I have been debating on when to pull my engine...The snow flying here has really made me seriously start to get the itch to take it out. I will have to trailer the car back into town about 4-5 miles while we build the engine.

Corky said the guy has the engine all machined and we are tentatively gonna mock the engine up this next Sunday. I am gonna try to meet Corky this Sunday for a few more sprints down the track before the 350 meets it final demise.

How much time did it take you other fellas to get the engine completely out of the car? Keep in mind I have a full car lift and tons of tools at my disposal. Is a weekend enough time to get the job done?

I know I can have the tranny out in about 1.5 hrs. That seems like the biggest part of the job. Can I get the engine out without removing the radiator?

Can the SR stay on while taking it out? I want to take as little off the engine as possible so I don't have to transport a million little items from the dealership to the house here.

Let me know what you think...Thanks.

Are you yanking the transmission? Takes me about 2.5 hours to pull the tranny, an hour or so to yank the accessories, less than an hour to pull the superram, 30 mins or so to pull the headers, then it is a matter of bolting up the engine and removing the mounts.

Yup, comes nowhere near it.

I would suggest pulling the plenum and the driver's side runners just to make it much easier. Or if you can figure out a way to pull the wiper motor with the plenum in place yank that.

It's always faster taking them apart than putting them back together again :)

Takes me about 10-12 hours to pull the motor working by myself with the car on jackstands.

Make sure to take off the wiper motor cover. With something like a Summit engine load leveler(4 point attachment) you can pull the super ram complete. On mine I was able to leave the trans in, just loosen the 2 bolts in the C beam, and use a floor jack to support it. But mine is a m6.
