first changed the battery, then the fuel pump, then the relays, then the fuses.
about to change the coil and distributor cap/rotor.
anyways here’s the question.
no powers going to the fuel pump. I tested the pump, it’s working, and I jumped the pump from the relay, so the electrical problem is somewhere from the battery to the relay. Which wires do I check and where are they? It’s nowhere from the pump to the relay, but idk. Somethings up. Help. Please. Thanks.
try putting 12v to pin G on your ALDL....should start the pump.....ignition turns pump on for 2 sec.....after 4 lbs oil pressure, oil switch powers it.....should hear a "click" from the relay when you turn on key.....it only stays on for 2 seconds....hope this helps....
Your ECM should run the pump for a couple of seconds when you turn the key on. Then the ECM looks for pulses from the distributor to
turn the pump back on. If you don't get the key-on pump cycle, the fuses, fuel pump, and ECM are the usual suspects. Pull a spark plug
wire and put a paper clip in it to check for spark. It sounds like an ECM issue but it could be distributor.
Mabey this helps from my 85, be sure to check all the wiring to make sure the cover hasn't shrunk down and the connectors are clean. I spliced all new connectors in a while back, anyway the important ones. Good Luck
Please don't say they are always broken I have only had my 85 for 2 weeks LOL other than a couple little things going on That I have asked questions about (NO response yet) I am keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck with yours.

85's a great year....but without turning some wrenches, they're not daily drivers anymore.....
