My power seats and door locks stopped working. All fuses showed ok, But the 30 amp accessory beaker shows bad. When I checked the breaker connection in panel it was showing over 12 volt, but that is with the key off. My question is if the key is off why would it show any current??
I put a new breaker in, but it just constantly breaks and resets. So apparently it has a short somewhere along the line. Anyone that has gone through a similar issue have advise on where to start first?
Electrical question is if the circuit is always hot does the breaker tripping mean that there is a hot wire directly going to ground. I've had to pull the breaker because it was getting hot to touch.

Either that, or something pulling too much current like a motor with a short. I'd start with unplugging the door lock and seat motors.
'87 was the first year that 6 way power seat was available on passenger side. Wire routing caused a chaffing on the power to the passenger seat, eventually causing short to seat rack and cycling breaker. The Action Center guys figured this out and sent out bulletins to the dealer network, but I can't remember at the moment if there was an actual TSB written for this. This only affected '87 models and was corrected for '88 on. If yours is an '87 might be worth a look.
