Default Going a diffrent route..

Well the engine is apart and I must soon decie on what parts to get so..

After reading the feedback on my last topic about "porting job", and after I talked to some other guys. I almost decide going a slitly diffrent route.
The goal I have with the car is to make it a street legal mid 12sec car, and to keep the 350 layout for now..

This is some ides I have for the car.

First I have toughts of swapping the stock EFI to a HALLTECH E6H. Why? I whant to be abel to fine tune and monitor the set-up in the best way possibel, and I dont like the ide to burn new chips all the time. And because I whant to go the supercharger route in the future. ANd I think that its a good investment what ever you whant to do with the car in the future..

Then is of course headers and exhuast.

Im thinking of keep my heads "stock", just a match port jobb, increase the comp buy using a diffrent gasget and add RRs, for now. And next year get som AFRs, or dart pro heads. I save that money for the HALLTECH e6 instead.

And instead of get a custom cam for $700, im thinking of get a LT4 hot cam kit? What do you think? Is it to "mild" Please come with ides. I think its a pretty good kit with RRs, springs and all.

The intake is going to be "unik". If you can remeber this old topic, from a guy in Sweden. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=323870.
With VOLVO 850 injectors plus the HALLTECH to controll it all. Im going to do the mods to the intake myself, with guidence from that same guy.

Then next year, (if I dont get fired for surfing to much on the job)...:

forget bottom end.
AFR heads.
Intercooled Supercharger.

Does this sound like a good start?

Im pretty sure this combo is good for 350/360 hp at the crank. And with AFR heads, mayby 400is possible?
And this is going to cost me around $2500 including the porting/gasgets etc.

Regards.

Not much. There is NO visual inspection. There is only a exhaust test,a CO test. And that is no probleme so far. I hade 0,12 on that test, and you can have 1,5. And that whas with only one cat, the pre's where removed.

What do you think of ides i have so far?

Thanks

It's a game plan, not like it can't be done. Port matching and 3 angle valve job is a big + for just a few $.

Ok so a Port matching and 3 angle valve job on the stock heads would be good? And do you think that increase the comp using diffrent gasget is a good ide?
What do you think about using the lt4 hot cam kit for this? Is that a good choise?

Thanks...

It looks like a great way to proceed. I've been doing a lot of research and I'm looking to use the same parts as you.

I am going to wait on the aftermarket engine controller till I go to a different block then the 350. I've been looking at the FAST system, http://www.fuelairspark.com/ , seems like a real nice setup.

I'm also going to fully port my own heads.

I'm also hoping there will be an efi tunnel ram intake that fits under the hood without modification when I'm ready to buy.

I think your hp goals (350/360 crank) are very realistic, aftermarket heads should bring you up to the LT1 guys who get 350 rwhp with the hot cam.

As for your future plans, I would look into a cam suited for a supercharger. I've never looked into this, so I'm not saying the hot cam is not suited, I just don't know.

I'd use the 1.6rr with the hot cam. the lift is only .520 or .525 WITH 1.6rr.

for comparison, the lift on Lingenfelters' 219 cam is .560
