POPPING IN EXHAUST

Anyone experienced this? The car starts right up but soon starts a low popping sound heard at the back of the car only. It also feels like it is missing but the engine is running flat (no shake). I'm going to put the autoxray on it today to see the data. Any ideas on what is causing the popping sound?

Popping is basically unburned fuel igniting. i.e. Your "missing" comment. Also check for a significant exhasut leak. Backfire @ decel is a clear sign of an exhaust leak, or bad emissions air pump operation.

I've heard them pop inside the exhaust when they are excessively rich and the fuel gets by the cat and lights....... :seeya

I tought a littel *popp* is normal? I have som *popps* with my muffler elim.
