ECM Removal on 1987 Corvette
Under the dash on the passenger's side........the two electrical connectors that go into the ecm........do they just pull out or do you have to squeeze the tabs together on the side of each of them. And is there just two screws holding the ecm in? Thanks

There are Two 10mm bolts that hold the ECM in take them out the ECM will drop about an Inch or two. On the two plugs you mentioned there are steel spring clips just slide a Pencil or about same size screwdriver behind the clips don't pry just to lift clips out of notch, wiggle plugs out without tugging on wires. If they don't want to move take a medium size screwdriver there is a bit of a shelf between the ECM & Plug that you can give a LIGHT Twist to pop out plugs.

Two 10mm bolts, then wiggle it out, don't yank on it. Then you remove the spring clips to remove the connectors.

Thanks alot guys. I had put the 3:42 rear end in my automatic 87 and the 'upshift' light kept coming on when I got to 58 mph. This chip was was supposed to fix that , but it still comes on.
