Default No more mufflers - what do you think

Tomorrow is the day I go for straight pipes. I have heard great things about the sound. Some people have complained about the lack of performance.

I don't really race (other than playing around with ricers). Will this really hurt my performance or will I just have wind it out more?

Please let me know what you all think - Thanks!

I can't prove it or anything but it sure felt like I lost some torque with the elims, even my passengers noticed my Vette had less 'kick' to it. Switched to Corsas and there was a definite SOTP increase. Sound is great tho, if ya don't mind the resonance, I have a few clips on my site :yesnod:

I can't say on the performance side as when the elims were put in, so was the 383! :D As for the sound, I love it!

A bud did it to his 86 L98. No other mods (not that he hasn't tried - they all made the car slower), he run 13.7's. That's NCCC national record-area ET. So they must work. And sound great. He retained the stock 3 cats.

Another bud did it on his 90, and he complained it was WAY too loud. But he gutted all three cats. Those cats are very effective (but not efficient) mufflers!

i've heard if you run striaght pipes out the back, that your loose low-end torque, and really only feel a performance increase in the high rpms.. i dont know by experience though.. just wut ppl say.. :)
