Default 86 Pace Car getting hot

I am completing a top end replacement on my 86 PC, since the car had rust/debris in the coolant and was running hotter than its normal 165ish. I had the heads machined, installed new water pump, radiator, hoses, therm, etc. While apart, I cleaned everything and replaced the hard vac lines, running from the AIR pump and the EGR, hoping that would extinguish the SES light, which has been on since I bought it (20yrs). After cranking for about a minute, the engine started to fire, ran rough (it hasn't been timed yet), and started getting hot. Took it for a test drive in 30 degree weather and by the time I made it home, the car was @ 255 and red lighted. I cant find a bleeder screw on either the TBI or the water pump, where it was rumored to be. Does anyone how to bleed air out of the coolant system, or if there are any suggestions? The return hose (upper) is hot, while the supply hose (lower) is cold. Thanks everyone!

There is no bleeder screw on an 86, you start with the cap off, let it warm up, and hold the throttle open a little (to suck the coolant down) as the tstat is opening up at 195F. Then add to fill and replace cap, and make sure the overflow reservoir is at the right level.
