Default 1985 mat

Hello everyone,

Well thanks to Oscar Sebastian the 85 is running better. He made a custom chip for me.

I am now trying to find wires and connections for all the sensors. Under the plenum near the distributor is a sensor that takes a two wire plug which I believe is the MAT sensor.
page 6E3-42 FSM says to check the MAT I should test it by disconnecting the MAT jumper harness. Does anyone know where this is or what it looks like.
I would really like to find the connector for the sensor.

Remember I bought this abused child. I don't know if they cut and pulled the wires or just tucked them away. any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Not the 2 prong egr solenoid connector but it is here in this bundle.

So the one under the plenum near the distributor is EGR.

Thank you

The mat sensor is under the plenum by the distributor . It has a pigtail (2 prong at each side) and connects where the arrow is. The egr sensor also connects in that area but it is 1 prong.
Then last connector is the egr solenoid which has a 2 prong which is different than the others. hope that makes sense.

Okay under the plenum near the distributor.
Is a two prong sensor.
I have removed the EGR and the chip is programmed to remove the EGR.
The single prong connector would have gone to the EGR.
I need to find the connector for the sensor under the plenum, correct?

Yes it should plug into mat sensor, but the reason I say it also plugs in by the arrow is I think the wire was made to short so they needed a pigtail extender for the extra 8 or so inches.

With egr deleted you may have a single prong connector by the arrow left over .
The egr solenoid may be gone also it is a 2 prong round looking connection.
This is the mat sensor connector by the arrow I drew.

I realize that the single prong EGR will be without a home.
But, the sensor hanging out of the plenum is a MAT sensor, correct?
And it connects to the connector on/near the valve cover, correct?

You are correct
Egr sensor will not be connected
Egr solenoid will not be connected
the mat sensor will connect by the valve cover(pictured connector) and in the pick the end of the wire(without connector) will connect to mat sensor under dizzy.
The reason the wire does not have a connector on one end is that it is an aftermarket connector.
If you have a pic that would help explain further.

Thank you for the help. The car is only accessible on weekends and this week I go on vacation. So I can't work on it until April. But, I am keeping this thread.
Thank you so much
