Default Oil Leak at Sending Unit

Well, I think I've finally found the source of oil leak on my 96 LT1. Replaced the intake gaskets using the right stuff. After a lengthy road test it does not appear to be leaking from the gaskets anymore, if it ever was. However, I could still smell oil burning on the block. Upon inspection there appears to be a leak coming from the pressure sensor fitting at the back of the block, specifically the elbow fitting. I'm pretty sure that's it because I can see oil pooling up around the fitting. Question is what do I use to seal that fitting? Will teflon tape be ok? Or do I need some kind of liquid sealant? Doesn't appear to be anything on there now which would explain why the threads are leaking.

Thanks

Either one will work. Permatex makes a teflon liquid/white glop sealer, or you can use tape. Just try not to introduce any of it to the oil passages when you put it back together.

It's 1/8th pipe thread, so it has a taper to it and is somewhat self sealing anyway, but some tape or sealer won't hurt.

Teflon tape is your friend. Just a wrap or two and you are good.

I use Teflon tape or Oatey pipe sealant.
