Just wondering if anyone has figured out this problem, with all the rain lately it has become extremely annoying. My problem is this: On the corners of the dash pad, where it overhangs near the door panel, water is somehow constantly dripping when it rains, and really pissing me off. Anyone had this problem before? How did you go about fixing it?
Thanks
I have the same problem. The weatherstrip around the windshield that seals to the door glass is causing mine. I just haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.
I used to get that water because the hood latch brackets USED to fill with water. I drilled a 1/8 inch hole in each one and the problem left forever. I got the idea from the MAD catalog........there's a kit for it but who needs it?

Not sure where you're getting your prices, but $1000 for a kit is awfully steep. If I remember, an entire kit (doors, windshield, top pillar, top sides, rear hatch) is $500-$700 depending on who you get it from. Just the front windshield is around $140.

Where was the water leaking in at when you had this problem??
Haven't had the pleasure of dealing with weatherstripping yet. Gordon Killibrew recommends getting the 94-96 package for all corvettes. He said they improved the sealing quality and material on that gasket set, and it is retrofittable to earlier corvettes. This is the recommendation from the man himself.
Edit: For all c-4 corvettes, lol.

I just chaulk it up to being a Corvette. I don't think I've ever been in a dry one.
Believe it or not, my 88' is always bone dry. But my 92' drips from the driver side corner of the roof, and my lower left leg is always mysteriously soaked when I get out of the car after driving in the rain. The 92' makes up for the 88'.

Can't use the 94-96 door stripping on the 84-89. The door changed and the thickness of the rubber changed also. I had the 90-96 part sent to me in error and tried to put it on my 85 and the door would not close. Called Corvette Rubber where I got the kit and they confirmed I had the wrong part and sent me the right one. Door closes now. :yesnod:
You might be able to use the 94-96 kit on the 90-93. I'm not sure.
The if the top weatherstripping is ok, try wiping it clean then applying a thin layer of dielectric grease on it to seal the top. That's where mine was leaking and it worked. Hope this helps.
Mine was leaking from around the same location. It turned out to be coming from the sides of the windshield. The water would travel inside and down the plastic molding and leak out the bottom of the molding. I sealed the sides of the windshield with silicon and the leak has stopped.
Sorry...guess I'm an idiot....but I never drive my vette in the rain.....ever...has never seen the rain......so I can't help you...but just thought I would give my input.....
