Help, Car Won't Start
Hey everyone. It's been awhile since I've been here. Well, I have a 1996 auto coupe. It's not my daily driver so I only drive it maybe 2-3 times a month otherwise it sits my driveway. Since the last month, I've had trouble starting my car. I thought maybe something electrical got wet in the rain we got the past month. It will just keep cranking without starting. The days that I can get it started, it works fine the whole day. I can start it and driving is completely normal. I know that there are 3 things to start and keep running the engine. Air, fuel and spark. I believed that maybe my plugs got wet, but it's been a few days without rain and the car still won't start. Could it be the fuel pump/sender? If it was the fuel pump, wouldn't loss of power or hesitation be present on the days the car starts. When I can get it started, everything is normal. I can floor it and feel now loss of power or hesitation. What should I do to narrow down what my problem could be? Thanks in advance, Ed.

Sounds like your OPTISPARK distributor got wet and or has failed you can open your hood and let the sun dry it out or taking a hair dryer to it if your water pump isn’t leaking there’s a slim chance that may fix it but being that this didn’t happen recently it’s probably already dry and you just have to replace it..
