Default 1987 Corvette; Time for some serious mods.

Howdy. I have a 87 auto with the L98. I've been reading through some forums on mods to do. Based of my own preference, I am looking for mods which will work together. My car is mostly stock. I just want to hear what you guys think would be the best part for me. So I'm looking for a cam, headers, 373 gear ratio kit (never done this), and stall converter. I want all my goodies to be friendly with each other and I've read on Super Chevy about there TPI build. They ran a stock TPI with a 270HR Magnum Cam with headers on the dyno and got roughly 330 HP and 400 lb/ft. I'll add this link below (Later then built to a 383). So if any of you who have done any of these mods shed some light and point me in the right direction, it would be truly appreciated. Also to drop the link for the part would save me a huge hassle. I feel there are so many sites with so many parts I get confused. By the way the car is not a daily, me and my buddies are just getting increasingly more competitive and I need something to blow the doors of his foxbody Thanks in advance!

I remember that article and they said "this is the way GM should have sold it".

If that 330hp was at the wheels it translates to ~365hp at the crank. I believe that TPIS build was on a '91 MN6, so only 10% DT loss.
I think that if you plan to hook that kind of power you will need slicks, so your OEM diff. won't stand many launches.

My prior '88 with an A4 was building 300chp and, with a 2,000rpm TC, on streets I had to "2-step" launch even on a tight track.

Since you plan to eventually build to 383 it might be better (for overall economy) to do that first and then build to that base.

So do you recommend I wait until the winter to start a full build? Makes more sense to do everything at once. 383, cam headers, intake, TC. Thanks for your input. What was the name of that 2 step you used?

3.73 is too much gears for a long runnered TPI I think 3.45’s offer the best of both worlds with a cam some large tube runners and some good flowing heads exhaust and converter

If you stroke it thats about the only way, all at once
Have a hard time believing those #s but have done a similar combo and it did feel like a big block down low.
